3 Amazing Attractions That Opened in 2018: Disney!

2018 was a spectacular year for Disney with the openings of many new attractions. Each park seemed to get an update that we didn’t see coming. From Toy Story Land to new restaurants at Disney Springs, each update had us wanting more. Here are a few of our favorites that we keep going back to.
  • Toy Story Land: This was one of the biggest openings that Disney had in 2018. Adding a much needed whimsical element to the park, Toy Story land swept us off of our feet. By shrinking us down to the size of Woody and Buzz alike, we get a view like never before. Slinky Dog Dash, Alien Swirling Saucers and plenty of lunch-pale grub were on the menu. This is the perfect place to bring both adults and kids!
  • H2O Glow Nights: Stay up extra late at Typhoon Lagoon and get ready for the ultimate night. H2O Glow Nights were announced and allowed you to swim like never before. With the pools lit up, you are able to float down the lazy river or ride “humunga cowabunga” in complete darkness. Such a success must be repeated, right? This summer, Typhoon Lagoon will host this once again starting in May and ending in August. Give us a call and book your tickets today!
  • The Edison: Unlike the other two, this is both an attraction and a restaurant. The Edison is Disney Springs newest restaurant themed to a 1920’s electric power plant. This one of a kind dining experience is split into sections where you’ll be able to see performers. With contortionists, palm readers and DJ’s, so much fun is to be had here.
When you come and experience these attractions, stay with us at Global Resort Homes. We have your perfect accommodations after a night out at the parks. Call us at (888) 426-0472 or visit GlobalResortHomes.com to book your vacation today!

  1. Starting January 18th, you can start the party at Animal Kingdom in Discovery Island. Led by Rafiki and Timon, guests will enjoy games and dances as you jump and play all night. This “Hakuna Matata Dance Time Party” will be a night to remember.

  2. Festival of The Lion King is one of the best shows that Animal Kingdom has to offer. With amazing songs and entertainment, you are sure to be drawn in as the African plains come alive. You’ll see your favorite characters come to life as you see The Lion King portrayed like never before.

  3. Kilimanjaro’s Safari may not be exactly Lion King themed, but you will see lions and many other animals that roam the great African plains. You’ll see sky high giraffes and giant elephants. You’ll see lions perched upon pride rock and crocodiles below. This is a one of a kind safari that you can only see here!

Thanksgiving at Walt Disney World Survival Guide

We all know that some of the best times at Disney are during the holidays. With special shows, events, and decorations, there is nothing that can compare. Although with everyone visiting, we do have a few tips so you can be sure to get the most out of your vacation!

  1. Stay with Global: Global has so many vacation homes right by all the theme parks so you and your whole family can stay together right under the same roof. Staying with Global means having your own space to relax after a long day at the parks too!

  2. Arrive Early: Many of the Disney parks fill up quick on the holidays so be sure to leave a few minutes early. Get to the front of the lines on your favorite rides so you can maximize your time. We recommend hitting your favorite rides first!

  3. Eat before the rush: Be sure to eat just before the breakfast, lunch and dinner rush. By doing this, you can get in line first at your favorite restaurants and then ride the rides while everyone else dines. By doing this, you’ll save time all around and get to take your time while you sip wine and eat yummy food.

  4. Plan your day: Sometimes the best days at Disney are the ones where you have a plan. Ride your “must” rides first and then wait for the others. Plan where you want to eat in advance that way you don’t have to spend precious time deciding. Lastly, use fastpasses to plan your day too. Fastpasses can cut down drastically on wait times.

  5. Have fun: The holidays at Disney can get crazy but just remember to have fun and enjoy the ride. The holiday spirit is all around at Disney and Thanksgiving is the perfect time to visit. Visit GlobalResortHomes.com and book your stay today!
