Eat to the Beat!

Eat to the Beat!

Eat to the Beat!

Just when we thought there wasn’t enough excitement at EPCOT’s International Food and Wine Festival, we were happily surprised again! From now through November 14, guests can enjoy top celebrity chefs, new Disney resort cooking and dining experiences. How? Through some very special upcoming November events!

Here are a couple that sound fun and intriguing… First, the secrets of flavor. On Thursday, November 3rd, enjoy a 3 course luncheon at Yachtsman Steakhouse at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. Here you will discover how the “science of sensory memory affects the way we perceive our favorite food.” This will done through a 60 minute tasting session. Then you’ll love the Rockin Burger Block Party, which will be held on Friday, November 11th. How fun to nosh on an incredible burger and interesting fixins while listening and partying to a live DJ! Share your favorite dance move while munching on specialty sliders. Yum!

Off the Beaten Path

Downtown Orlando

Downtown Orlando

While we LOVE all of the fun tourist activities to do here in Orlando, sometimes it’s great to go “off the beaten path” to escape the crowds and do something the locals do. Downtown Orlando is just a quick 20-30 minute drive from any of our resorts. Lake Eola Park is located in the heart of Downtown Orlando. The sidewalk that circles the lake is just about a mile in length, making it easy for visitors to keep track of their walking or running distances. Other activities available to park visitors include renting swan-shaped paddle boats, feeding the live swans and other birds inhabiting the park, seeing a concert or a play in the Walt Disney Amphitheater, grabbing a bite to eat at Relax Grill on Lake Eola. The Eola Sunday Market has gained a reputation of being one of the best in Central Florida. The market features fruits and vegetables, home-made breads, an assortment of local cuisines, beer, wine and a variety of artwork and entertainment. If you happen to be in Orlando on May 28th, 2016, you may be able to see a free performance of “Cinderella,” presented by the Russian Academy of Ballet. This classic fairy tale will have incredible sets and costumes and will be held at the Walt Disney Amphitheater!
