Epcot: Spaceship Earth!

Spaceship Earth

Spaceship Earth

Spaceship Earth is more than just iconic, this attraction is fun AND educational. Travel back to the start of recorded history, when man painted his thoughts on only cave walls. Then when the Egyptians invented papyrus and the Phoenicians came up with the alphabet. Witness ideas spreading like no other with the invention of Johannes Gutenberg’s printing press and the inspiring works from the masters of the renaissance. The wheels of time turn even quicker when we travel to the modern age of media communications. From newspapers announcing the end of the Civil War to the televised broadcast of the moon landing and beyond, this attraction mentions it all! Besides that, they have also made this ride very interactive. You and your buggy partner will fill out a quick fun form that will display your ideal planet at the end. Don’t forget to be ready for the picture! Are you visiting Orlando with your family and need help planning your next trip to Epcot at the Walt Disney World Resort? Magic Kingdom: Space Mountain!

Space MountainEven if you’ve never been to the Walt Disney World Resort I’m sure you’ve heard of Space Mountain! In this attraction you can navigate a dark, neon-lit space station and make your way to a busy control tower, passing a constellation of glowing astronaut training stations. Inside a futuristic launch pad, climb aboard a aerodynamic rocket and prepare yourself for a deep space adventure into the beyond! This one of a kind attraction is fast paced and very, very dark. These two characteristics make for a great combination. This ride was the first of it’s kind in fact, developed in the 1960’s. Space Moutain inspired many rollercoasters to follow such as “The Mummy” at the Universal Resort here in Orlando, as well as “The Rockin’ Roller Coaster” located in Hollywood Studios, practically next door. This attraction has always been a favorite of mine, but we all know what that can mean… long lines. However, not to worry! The line is filled with interactive games to keep you entertained along the way. It’s really not too bad. But, from a frequent visitor to a “newby”, this ride is best to visit near the end of the day, like most attractions. Coming to Orlando and need help planning your next trip to the Magic Kingdom? Hollywood Studios: Fantasmic!

Fantasmic!Fantismic! The name of this attraction really says it all. As a park visitor I guess you can expect this ride to be… fantastic. If you’re worried that it wont be that way, then STOP! This evening/night display is tremendously fantastic and also one of a kind. Witness a show that brings together favorite Disney heroes, princesses and villains! The attraction takes you into the amazing imagination of Mickey Mouse as the Sorcerer’s Apprentice. Join him as he invokes the characters and spirit of favorite Disney classics such as Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Peter Pan, and many more! But when the Evil Queen from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs gathers Disney villains such as Ursula, Cruella de Vil, Scar and Maleficent to turn Mickey’s dreams into a nightmare, leave it to the Mouse and his imagination to save the day! You will be happy you took the time to see this attraction. I REALLY recommend it! Another thing, don’t worry about RSVP’ing or spending a ton on dinner to sit in the middle/front seating. Left, right, or center, you’ll be able to enjoy this show just fine so don’t stress. When I went last we simply waited in line and received ‘stage right’ seating about four rows deep. It was so awesome! Are you coming to Orlando and do you need help planning your next trip to Hollywood Studios in the Walt Disney World Resort? We are here to help you and your family! The Haunted Mansion At The Magic Kingdom!

The Haunted Mansion At The Magic Kingdom!

The Haunted Mansion At The Magic Kingdom!

One attraction I never miss when visiting the Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort is the Haunted Mansion. In this ride you climb aboard a gloomy Doom Buggy for a supernatural journey through a labyrinth of haunted chambers. Honestly, the line in this ride is not that bad either! They sure do know how to keep you entertained, but make sure to grab a fast pass for it because it’s usually available. In the ride you’ll find ghouls with things that go bump in the night. This is a classic attraction that promises to send chills up and down your spine! Here’s the back-story, “Once an abandoned residence in the center of Liberty Square, the Mansion has been home to 999 unearthly specters since October 1, 1971”

1. The Ghost Host
The disembodied voice of this helpful ghoul is your private guide through the cadaverous realm of the estate, directing you from room to room. Just try to find your way out!
Madame Leota

2. Hitchhiking Ghosts
If you happen to make it through the mansion, be warned that 3 phantoms await you at the exit and shall surely follow you home.

3. Happy Haunting Grounds
Over 15 rooms are waiting to be explored within the brick-draped walls of this darkened, spirit-infested abode.

4. The Portrait Chamber
You won’t believe your eyes in this strange stretching room, where secrets are revealed on the walls and an unseen horror high overhead comes to light.

5. Grand Ballroom
Behold transparent revelers waltzing to and fro, banshee heads floating out of a nearby organ and 2 haunted men in a duel from the great beyond.

6. The Graveyard
Go through a midnight cemetery overflowing with spooks and specters joyously singing the haunting anthem, “Grim Grinning Ghosts,” as a cemetery watchman and his bony dog quiver in fear.

Gaston’s Tavern

Gaston's TavernOne of my favorite hidden gems in the Magic Kingdom is Gaston’s Tavern! This is an awesome place to relax and have one fantastic cinnamon roll. That is for sure! Gaston’s Tavern is located in Fantasy Land. So this is near the new Snow White ride. Disney describes the Tavern of course as the manliest of manly places. Which makes total sense if you know the movie! Gaston’s Tavern serves up such satisfying snacks as well as mixed vegetables cups, hummus with chips, fruit cups and like I said… warm amazing fantastic wonderful cinnamon rolls. Did I mentions I liked those?! You can also enjoy refreshing beverages like LeFou’s Brew—the restaurant’s signature non-alcoholic drink. Here, you will find a whole themed section based on the Muppets and Muppet*Vision 3D is the center of it all! A matched made in heaven to say the least! With hilarious musical numbers, surprising in-theater effects and the world’s first computer-generated Muppet, Waldo C. Tom Sawyer Island

Tom Sawyer Island

Tom Sawyer Island

Tom Sawyer Island

The Magic Kingdom in the Walt Disney World Resort has so many amazing and popular attractions so it is easy to miss a few. From Space Mountain to Cinderella’s Castle you just might miss something that is delightful. Well here’s a hidden Gem… Tom Sawyer Island. Located across from Splash Mountain you’ll find this attraction, but you’ll have to take a log raft to get here. Usually a short wait, so it’s totally worth it. Also, a great spot if you need a break from the crowds. When you arrive at Tom’s Landing you can embark on a self-guided expedition into the heart of early America. Walk around dusty dirt trails with sycamore and oak trees and creaky suspension bridges. Navigate narrow passages amid secret mined caves and uncover an age-old fort. The caves were my personal favorite. You’ll basically be able to follow in the pioneering footsteps of the frontier’s early settlers, during an era when Mark Twain and Tom Sawyer reflected an America coming into its own. After some time on the island you’ll actually feel like you’re in a National Park. It’s a very unique experience in the Walt Disney World Resort and definitely worth the visit, especially if your family packed your own lunches. It’s a perfect place for a picnic! Isn’t it time you visited the Magic kingdom!? Go to our website GlobalResortHomes.com or call an agent at (888) 426-0472 to book your next trip with us!
