Holiday food you can’t miss at Disney World!

The holidays are almost here at Disney World and now is your time to book your stay so you can experience all of what Disney has to offer during this special time. The holidays would not be complete without the delicious food that Disney puts out year after year. This year, Disney is set to introduce some new specialty foods but also bring back some of our favorites.

First, you have to check out the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House. An entire house, set inside the lobby of the famed hotel is made completely out of gingerbread and royal icing. Although you can’t take a bite directly from the roof, you can purchase them! These sweet treats will keep you fueled for your busy day checking out the rest of the decorations.

Starting late November, Epcot will begin putting out its specialty drinks in their native countries. Grab yourself a glass of Hot Salted Caramel or the “Dutch Grasshopper” in Germany. They’ll also have holiday favorites like a Thanksgiving feast and so much more throughout the park. Epcot is also host to the Candlelight Processional where you can hear your favorite Christmas tunes from some of Disney’s most gifted cast members.

The Tortuga Tavern has recently started serving up delicious “Cookies & Cream Churros.” These fried pieces of heaven are cream-filled and then served with a side of chocolate dipping sauce. Whatever you choose to eat, we’re sure it will be great!

Your new favorite Disney restaurants!

Disney Springs – D-Luxe Burger – Southern Classic & Cluck Burger

Disney is constantly changing the way it works. New shops, new rides and new restaurants seem to pop up everyday. This summer has been no different with new food spots popping up here and there. Our favorite restaurants happen to be at Disney Springs and Disney’s Boardwalk- no entry fee! We’ve tried a few and are here to tell you what we think!

The newly renovated Flying Fish Cafe at Disney’s boardwalk is absolute perfection. The seafood selection will leave you satisfied with anything from blue crab Bisque to Hokkaido scallops. The ambiance is warm and inviting, as is anything with Disney. Located at The Boardwalk, you do not have to be a guest to eat here and can make reservations anytime. After that, grab something sweet at Ample Hills Creamery. This New York based company provides the freshest, tastiest combos of your favorite treats. Mint patty and salted caramel are just a few!

More of our favorite restaurants are located at Disney Springs, just a few miles from Flying Fish and Ample Hills. With more of a laid back vibe, the springs provides anything from a cupcake machine to 5-star dining. One of our favorite casual places to try is the D’Luxe Burger. This quick-stop burger shop will leave you wanting more and more. Their specialty is the burger but they do have dairy free and vegetarian options too. One place we’re looking forward to opening is “The Edison” restaurant. An upscale and modern dining experience where you are encouraged to dress “innovative and sophisticated” will round out the plethora of options at Disney Springs. Visit today and book with Global Resort Homes!

There is no better way to cool off from the Florida sun than going to a water park! All you can want can be found at the major water parks which include the new Volcano Bay, Typhoon Lagoon & Blizzard Beach. Sun, pools, food and more is what you need for a day of relaxation.

If you haven’t been yet, you have to get tickets to Volcano Bay. Volcano Bay is one of a kind with it’s lush green scenery and giant volcano bay. A fan favorite is Krakatau Aqua Coaster. You’ll be pushed, pulled and thrusted through the giant volcano where you and your friends will have a blast!

Another amazing water park is Typhoon Lagoon. This classic Disney park will leave you wanting to come back time and time again. As you enter the park you’ll be greeted by flourishing foliage as well as a giant “beach.” Get ready to ride the waves here with Typhoon Lagoon’s 6-foot swells.

Lastly, if you’re ready to have winter in summer, then look no further than Blizzard Beach. Blizzard Beach is made for those that love to have fun with extreme slides. The 12 story slide just may be the best Disney has to offer.
