Holiday food you can’t miss at Disney World!

The holidays are almost here at Disney World and now is your time to book your stay so you can experience all of what Disney has to offer during this special time. The holidays would not be complete without the delicious food that Disney puts out year after year. This year, Disney is set to introduce some new specialty foods but also bring back some of our favorites.

First, you have to check out the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House. An entire house, set inside the lobby of the famed hotel is made completely out of gingerbread and royal icing. Although you can’t take a bite directly from the roof, you can purchase them! These sweet treats will keep you fueled for your busy day checking out the rest of the decorations.

Starting late November, Epcot will begin putting out its specialty drinks in their native countries. Grab yourself a glass of Hot Salted Caramel or the “Dutch Grasshopper” in Germany. They’ll also have holiday favorites like a Thanksgiving feast and so much more throughout the park. Epcot is also host to the Candlelight Processional where you can hear your favorite Christmas tunes from some of Disney’s most gifted cast members.

The Tortuga Tavern has recently started serving up delicious “Cookies & Cream Churros.” These fried pieces of heaven are cream-filled and then served with a side of chocolate dipping sauce. Whatever you choose to eat, we’re sure it will be great!

There is no better time at Disney than celebrating with family and friends. Global Resort Homes has your accommodations covered with 2 bedroom apartments to 9 bedroom houses. Visit http://www.globalresorthomes.com or call an agent at (888) 426-0472 to book your stay today!

Top Golf Orlando Opening this Week!

In the middle of Orlando lies International Drive (otherwise known as I-Drive to the locals) where food, entertainment and so much more come together to create the perfect vacation spot. The popular destination that really put I-Drive on the map is the Orlando Eye that recently opened. But another icon is sure to take the reigns and that is TopGolf. A popular attraction in other cities, TopGolf makes golf a full day’s activity.

In a sports bar atmosphere, TopGolf offers games, food and a bar scene all there. This 65,000 sq. ft. location features new technology that lets you track your accuracy and distance all in your golf swing. Think of TopGolf like a driving range but totally pumped up! The restaurant lets you order right to your “golf bay” which seats 1-6 players. Order anything from just drinks and appetizers to full meals.

After you’re done at TopGolf, I-Drive has so much more for you to partake in. First, head over to the Orlando Eye or Madam Tussauds Wax Museum. See all of Orlando from the huge ferris wheel stretching 400” above the ground. Try restaurants like Maggiano’s Italian, Copper Canyon Grill or the Yard House. You can even dance on the tables at Taverna Opa. Visiting this part of Orlando is a must and you will not be disappointed. Luckily, Global Resort Homes has plenty of vacation homes close to all of these activities. Visit http://www.globalresorthomes.com or call an agent at (888) 426-0472 to book your stay today!

Universal’s Spooky Halloween Horror Nights is now open!

“Lions and tigers and bears, OH MY!” is an understatement to this spooky halloween tradition that comes to Universal Orlando every year. If you love to be scared then this may be the perfect event for you on your visit to central Florida. This year, Universal has decided to call their theme “The Festival of the Deadliest” featuring haunted houses from “American Horror Story,” “Insidious” and more.

For 34 nights through November 1st, Universal will be scaring adults and teens alike. For over 20 years, they have been perfecting their craft and this year they have it freakishly right. Between 6:30PM and ending at 1AM, you can get all of your scares and giggles in. Although, if Halloween Horror nights is not for you, do not worry!

First, the devilish night starts at 6:30PM leaving the whole day for you and the family to explore Universal and Islands of Adventure. After 6:30 hits, you are still able to explore parts of Universal including the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Also, Universal’s Citywalk will be open which includes gourmet restaurants, live music and shopping. A few of our favorite spots at Citywalk are The Hard Rock Cafe, The Chocolate Emporium and Margaritaville.

Luckily, Global has so many homes located just minutes from Universal. With no chance of spooky happenings in Global’s homes, you will sleep safe and sound after a night of haunted houses. Visit http://www.globalresorthomes.com or call an agent at (888) 426-0472 to book your stay today!

Magic Kingdom like never before!

If you’re visiting Magic Kingdom then you know all about the rides, restaurants, shows and parades. But what about behind the scenes tours that take you on never before seen hidden areas? What about the secrets of the classic attractions and more? This tour is for you!

The “Key’s to the Kingdom” tour is something that everyone of all ages will enjoy. A 5 hour walking tour of the kingdom takes you on adventures like no other. Wearing an ear-piece (so you and the guides can be heard throughout the tour), you’ll be taken through the kingdom and down through the “Utili-doors” where the magic happens. You will be able to see warehouses where the parade floats are kept and get up close and personal with them. You’ll get to see how rides work and experience the history of Disney along with trivia and more! Lunch is provided as well a fun keepsake. We’re going to keep it vague as we don’t want to spoil the magic of the adventure.

This tour is a must but if it does not work with your busy schedule, be sure to stop by magic kingdom and ride a few rides. A few of my favorites include the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Mad Tea Party (the teacups) and Space Mountain. Magic Kingdom is truly an experience that no one will forget!

Experience the Food & Wine Festival today!

August 31st, 2017 kicked off the first day of the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot. This special event runs through November 13th and will serve up food like never before. With live music, new cocktails and international food, you are sure to have an incredible time. 35 food booths will have you trying food from all corners of the world.

If you’re looking to try seafood from “down under” then look no further than the Australian booth. With sweet grilled shrimp or grilled lamb, you are sure to find something tasty. Back up in the northern hemisphere, you can try Boeuf Bourguignon, Purée de Pommes de Terre: Cabernet Sauvignon Braised Beef with Mashed Potatoes. This treat from France will leave you speechless.

A few new booths are also expected to make an appearance this year. We’re especially looking forward to “Coastal Eats.” Try a Lump Crab Cake with Napa Cabbage Slaw and Avocado Lemongrass Cream or Baked Shrimp Scampi Dip with a Sourdough Baguette and feel right at home in Cape Cod. “Flavors from Fire” is also going to be popular, featuring many spicy dishes. Try Piggy Wings: Roasted Pork Wings with Korean BBQ Sauce and Sesame Seeds or a Sweet Pancake with Spicy Chipotle Chicken Sausage, Onion Jam and Maple Butter Syrup. The fiery concoctions are sure to get your taste buds roaring.

A few of the best Orlando restaurants you have to try!

Add these Orlando restaurants to your Florida “to-do” list. Our city was recently voted the #1 foodie city in the U.S. as well as the city with the most restaurants per capita. Not only does this mean we have a lot of restaurants, but this means we have a lot of GREAT restaurants. From hole in the wall eateries to spectacular Disney dishes, be sure to visit these on your next visit here. Here are our favorites in no particular order.

1. Hot Krust Panini Kitchen – Serving up warm sandwiches, this place is known for its jampacked flavor. Located close to the airport, Hot Krust is a popular stop after the long plane rides. Try anything from a “Surf and Turf” sandwich to the “Hula Hoop BBQ Chicken.”

2. Blaze Pizza – This favorite is new to town and all about custom creation. Located at Disney Springs, this spot will cook up your made-to-order pizza in about 90 seconds. Your wish is their command at Blaze Pizza. Vegan and gluten free options are available!

3. Victoria & Albert’s – This fine dining restaurant at Disney’s Grand Floridian has redefined what fine dining is. This 6-course menu is ever changing and features many favorites like deep-sea scallops and more. With outstanding service, delicious food and a gorgeous atmosphere, this will be a once in a lifetime experience.

4. Sofrito Latin Cafe – Located close to all the parks, this Latin cafe is serving up classics all day. In the morning, try the Cuban empanada with your choice of stuffings and pair it with a Cafe con Leche. Later, you must try their incredible Roast Pork which is seasoned to perfection. All options are great at Sofrito and the location is great!

Come and see the Magic of Cirque Du Soleil!

If you have ever been to Disney Springs West Side (formerly known as Downtown Disney), then you have seen the giant yet mysterious white tent that is unmissable. Poking out from the rather subdued background, this white tent is home to Cirque Du Soleil which boasts acts like you have never seen. The magic of Cirque Du Soleil is set to extinguish coming this December so now is the time to book your flight to Florida and your tickets to the event!

Started in 1998, this show has been around since many of the local Floridians can remember. The custom built stage was made just for the athletes and performers who take the stage every night. With 10 shows a week, 1,500 visitors per show and 67 performers, Cirque Du Soleil is something you will not want to miss.

The show includes many acts that are highly technical and professional. For example, you will see Aerial Bamboo where a performer launches them self sky high only to impress you more and more. The flying trapeze will have you holding your breath as the performers jump over the stage and audience. The trampoline (a personal favorite) is a high energy performance where the performers do all kinds of flips, jumps and tricks.

This December, Cirque Du Soleil will take its final bow on December 31st, 2017 at the Disney Springs location. For you, this means you must visit central Florida to see this show before the lights on the stage go out. When you’re ready to see the show, be sure to book your stay with Global Resort Homes! Visit http://www.globalresorthomes.com or call an agent at (888) 426-0472 to book today!
