Disney & Universal Raise Prices Again

For the third time in two years, Walt Disney World has raised its tickets prices. A adult single day/park ticket will now cost $71. Just a few days later Universal Studios did itself a favor and matched Disney. Bully for them! To give Universal some credit, their popular 2 Day / 2 Park pass remains unchanged at $99.95 if purchased online. Universal has stated that they are shifting savings towards multi-day tickets and tickets purchases made online.
Universal seems to pricing itself into profitability. Attendance for the second quarter was down 3% but earning were up 32%. Per capita spending also increased 8%. So, my fellow economists, all this equals less people spending more.
