With the latest installment of the insanely popular Harry Potter movies due out in weeks, Universal Orlando announces a Harry Potter theme park. I’ll be the first in line for the Quidditch ride!!!
This comes as good news for visitor to Orlando and locals alike. Universal Studios Orlando is feeling a little dated these days (why is the Bill Paxton still introducing a flying cow?) and the park(s) need some improvement. With the already announced Simpsons ride, Universal is poised to spend upwards of $260 million to complete the “park within a park” and is committing 20 acres to the project.
Opinion: This is going to inject some much needed buzz into the Orlando vacation industry and should bring up Universal Orlando’s attendance numbers – something that Disney doesn’t have a problem with.
